SUNRISE

The star heralding the dawn pales in the half-light.  The stone watchtowers turn to a reddish old-gold.   The arc of a corona emerges and glistens on the purple and green cirrus clouds of the horizon, announcing the sun.  At the first beam of the rising disk, the sands begin to hum and the guelb (stone towers) strike up their clamour, following the immutable ritual of the desert.
