The cameramen filmed Tereshkova drinking fresh milk from a bottle as she stood beside her spacecraft in the steppe. People from the neighboring kolkhozes surrounded the metallic sphere and peered in through the hatch. They asked Valentina about her flight and offered her cheese, lepeshki, kumiss, and bread. From every direction, herdsmen on horseback came galloping up to see the spaceship. The helicopters of the search party hovered above the touchdown point.
