I found no places of entertainment in this strange land: no theatre, no concert-hall, no museum, no picture-gallery.  Let the indolent fritterer of time and money ponder this statement.  The brightest parts of life, those things which in some sort make up life in a very real sense of the word, were for Millwall non-existent.
