THE NORTH RIDING PROJECT

FRIG was a magazine produced by students Ricky Sprule and Panther Siskin as part of an A-Level media project at Fryup High School in 1992.  As well as a range of articles about cars and relationship advice, the magazine featured scantily-clad images of class-mates, and a topless photo of former teacher Pamela Brayshaw in the centre spread.  Initially given top marks, the grade was rescinded after complaints, including allegations that some of the featured models had been photographed without permission. Sprule and Siskin were permanently expelled.  A subsequently re-published version of the magazine sold over 20,000 copies.
