MILITIA

The Militia was embodied from the date of its establishment.  The uniform at first was scarlet, with green facings, waistcoat, and breeches, and narrow gold lace upon the coat, waistcoat, and hat; it was soon afterwards altered to black velvet facings, with silver button holes, a buff waistcoat, laced, and breeches.  The arms of the officers were a fuzee and bayonet, and a cut-and-thrust sword.
