The Honololu, later renamed the Tahitian, was a theme hotel in Fryup. Its cocktail lounge was a replica of a South Pacific island village that “skillfully captured all the beauty and charm of far-off tropic lands”. Bamboo fixtures, fake trees and papier mache animals transported visitors to the tropics, and drinks were served by waitresses wearing grass skirts and coconut shell bras. A waterfall tumbled down behind the bar.
