Comprising a single drop of 100 feet from a rocky overhang, Fryup Force is England’s highest unbroken waterfall. Over the years it has been crossed by tightrope walkers, jumped by stunt bikers, and used as a setting for numerous films, including the 1986 Purple Wave classic, Killer Mermaids. Fryup Force is the site of an annual competitive eating contest, the FFC Omelette-a-Rama. The plunge pool at the foot of the falls is said to contain Britain’s biggest pike, nicknamed Big Bob, which is estimated to weigh over 50lb, and has eluded anglers for almost two decades.
