XENIA

Shipwrecked: 1st February 1903, Cruden Skares, Aberdeenshire.

Souls lost: 2

Findings: Violent weather conditions prevent crew from accurately establishing vessel position relative to rocks.  Prompt action of local fishermen prevent much greater loss of life.

Wreck: Vessel bound for Boston, US from Newcastle. Hit notorious semi-submerged rocks north of Aberdeen known as ‘the Skares’. Rapidly fills with water and sinks within 10 minutes.
