He is 25, tall, blond, brittle-thin, with a face that seems to glow in the dark, thanks to a classic case of what is known as nightclub-pallor. In common with almost all the other bad-boy players on the circuit, his natural expression is one which flickers uncertainly between arrogance and diffidence, and most of the time manages to suggest the innocence of an infant pyromaniac.
