The show wasn’t just camp. It was way beyond camp. All the episodes were bizarre and kitsch and hilarious, but our first totally surreal Christmas special still stands out in my mind. I come down a fight of steps singing ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’ as the whole set around me vanishes in a whirl of glitter, lights and totally fake snow.
