THE NORTH RIDING PROJECT

Mullet Fuckers follows a gang of degenerate teenagers who spend their days and nights roaming rural landscapes and semi-derelict farmsteads, filming one another on a VHS camera as they vandalise property, befriend eccentric locals – including the feral ‘Mullet Boy’ – and indulge in orgies. Adhering loosely to the principles of the Dogme 95 movement, Mullet Fuckers is presented as shot, in glitchy, black-and-white analogue format, and its dialogue is sporadic and often incoherent. It was described as “perversely beautiful” and “grubbily transgressive” by Film Magazine, and won a Silver Apricot at the 2010 Yerevan International Film Festival.
