In 2012 Sprule, using her nom de guerre Tanya Lasagne, opened the Fryup Institute of Contemporary Art (FICA) with her show Luminosity, featuring paraphernalia from the semi-fictional Fryup Liberation Front (FLF). At the preview, Sprule had the audience ‘kidnapped’ by a masked and apparently armed female gang who led them into Fryup forest, where they were kept in tents overnight, before being released early the next morning. The event, which referenced Graciela Carnevale’s notorious Happening in Rosario in 1968, sparked a police investigation and a number of legal challenges from the reluctant ‘captives’.
