FRYUPS IV

Films shot all or partly on the Fryup islands include Crazy Dwarf Time (2002), a Blair Witch-style story of four teenage film-makers who set sail for the island of Aviss to explore its reputation for dwarf folklore.  Crazy Dwarf Time won the “Golden Owl’ for best film at the 2002 Tirana Film Festival.  In 2006, Madonna reputedly alighted upon the islands to scope their potential as the location for a prospective sequel to her much-derided 2002 shipwreck saga Swept Away, but was dissuaded by persistent storms.
