THE NORTH RIDING PROJECT

Fryup Killer Bees (FKB) was a hip-hop collective from Fryup, North Yorkshire. Its original members were Freya The Slayer, Clint The Wise Man, MC Sadie, and the fictional F-Boy.  FKB self-released its eponymous debut mixtape in 2008, as well as various solo and collaborative projects over the subsequent years, often using a variety of pseudonyms. In 2010, it released its second mixtape, Revenge of the Killer Bees.  In 2011, Freya The Slayer released her solo concept album, Further Adventures, which was described by Spin Magazine as “excitingly disruptive”.  Clint’s W£TCH4UCKIN was released in the same year.  FKB announced its disbandment in 2013.  Pitchfork wrote that FKB’s legacy was “”one that demands we bask in complicated truths, reminding us that nurturing the parts that don’t fit is how any culture moves forward.”
